🔧 AI and Refactoring: A New Chapter in Tech–Business Collaboration Refactoring has long been a delicate art - not just technically, but politically. Convincing management to invest in cleaning up rushed architectural decisions was never easy. It required storytelling, persuasion, and a deep understanding of business priorities. It was an art form in itself. At the same time, it was equally an art for managers to know when to say “no” - to rein in overly ambitious engineers chasing perfection at the expense of delivery. That balance between innovation and pragmatism has always been fragile. Technical debt, born from tight deadlines and shifting priorities, often led to delays, instability, and rising costs months or years later. But explaining why a monolith, microservices, or modular architecture matters - and how it impacts business outcomes - was rarely straightforward. Many careers have stumbled at this intersection of worlds. But today, AI is changing the equation. What once took months can now be done in days. Refactoring is no longer a massive investment - it’s a manageable experiment. And I believe most management teams will give it a green light, especially when the cost is low and the potential upside is high. 💬 Will this make our lives easier and collaboration smoother? I’m confident it will. AI isn’t just a tool - it’s a translator, a bridge, and perhaps the missing piece in the long-standing dialogue between tech and business.
