AI Tool Evolution: Why My Focus Has Shifted to Claude
For a long time, Google Gemini was my absolute favorite for development. To be honest, it’s still flawless for handling everyday tasks. Its speed, context window management, and seamless integration make it an excellent daily driver that I have no plans to drop.
But the industry moves too fast to stick with just one solution.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been actively testing the latest releases from Anthropic, specifically Claude Code.
The verdict? I am absolutely thrilled. Right now, this product is the clear leader for engineering tasks for me, and here is why:
Multi-agent environment & workflow organization: this is the real breakthrough. The way Anthropic has built agent orchestration and workflow management takes tool autonomy to a whole new level. It doesn't just suggest code snippets, it genuinely understands the task context across the entire ecosystem.
Code quality and optimization: the generation is top-notch. The resulting code is clean, well-structured, and architecturally sound, which significantly minimizes the time spent on refactoring.
Performance speed: yes, it’s currently "tolerable"- Claude can be a bit contemplative, especially when parsing complex logic paths. However, the depth of analysis and agent autonomy completely compensate for those few extra seconds. The overall time-saving effect is still a massive net positive.
Bottom line: Gemini remains in my toolkit as a reliable "workhorse" for quick, day-to-day tasks. But when it comes to complex development, system architecture, and agentic workflows- Anthropic is currently setting a bar that everyone else will have to chase.
